neutral safety switch only allows you to start the truck when the clutch is depressed(5speed) or when the truck is in park or in neutral (auto)

And for the sheilds, I would weld them on...

I used 6" dia 1/4" wall stell tubing. Cut in half with tabs on each half. Top half is welded to supports that bolt to the frame (at the trans) and axle, bottom half of loop bolts to top half via the tabs so when you need to drop your shaft, all you do is drop the lower hoop.
Make sense?

Jethro, I'm a fab sponsor for a couple of sled trucks down here in TX. I've built several sets of loops. Here is the last set I built a few weeks ago.

Also, if you go to my website and look under the Inmates section, go to #13 and you can see another set I built that are pretty much the same. That should give you a pretty good idea of what you need. I hope that helps. And if you have any questions feel free to ask. They are by no means very easy to build. The rear has to telescope and pivot, the rest can be solid mounted. I usually charge a grand for these setups. But since I sponsor these guys, they get them for alot less. But if you can fab, set aside about 4 days, and go at it.

These are not as purdy as Ducks but they are approved by the NHRA not sure about pulling requirements.

About $22 each + S&H. I use one on both ends the shaft.
