I just noticed the other day that when I turn my wheel left or right from a dead stop or trying to park I'm getting a slight grinding sound in the front. It almost sounds like when you have to big of a tire and it rubs the mudflap or the inside fender well.
I'm sure it could be numerous things that may cause it, but I need ideas, so I can start checking them off and try and pin point what it is. What do you think?
I think I might have the same problem. My truck sounds like there is a winding noise you the typical ford power steering noise. It seems to be getting louder. I am starting to feel it in the brake pedal as well like a vibration. Does anyone know what could be the problem? The sound also changes when I depress the brake pedal.
That's one thing I haven't done yet, I will check the fluid level today. I know I need to replace my front brakes and need the rotors turned, but I'm wondering if the pads are so worn down that they are grinding on the rotors and that's where the noise is coming from. Does that sound possible? I will report back later on the fluid level.

Very well could be and do your self a favor and replace your rotors. Turning rotors on a SuperDuty is a short term fix and usually don't last very long at all. They aren't heavy enough to begin with and turning them only thins them even more.
Yeah I've heard that. I would really like to do it right, but I'm not really in the best of situations to purchase new rotors and pads. Plus I don't know how much longer they will hold out till I get the money. Any suggestions on what to do on a low budget?
If you pads/rotors are metal to metal, you may not have much choice. If the rotors are too bad, you may not be able to turn them down enough. If you do turn them, only have the turned a bare mimimun and get some decent pads. AutoZone has some faily good ones at a fair price. They will be as good as OEM. If you could afford to do it right, I love my Power Slot Cryo's with Hawk pads. My old truck never stopped like it does now.
You may can get Hawks at NAPA but there not a NAPA item. Some discount parts houses carry the pads as well. The Power Slots may be a bit harder to find. I ordered both online mainly because I hate shopping. I thinks several of our site sponsors carring them. Some of the others may jump in here and help answer this one.
