paint removal
Working on my 56...My next step is slowing removing the paint ....I only have a 1hp compressor so a sandblaster doesn't work too well. I figure the easiest way (although none of them are) is to use paint stripper on it. Any other suggestions ? Wet/dry? Using a sander is way to cumbersome? Don't want to take it to a soda blaster although I suppose I could since I have all of the pieces off. What does everyone think?

Use aircraft stripper. Itll eat through anything, and is pretty cheap. I would advise agaist using mecaninical means of stripping or sandblasting, as they may damage that valuable vintage tin!! Just make sure to grind off the edges of your putty knife before you scrape it off to avoid gouges.
