Windshields washer fluid leak

So I filled up the washer fluid tank and noticed it all ran out along the running board. I would assume a hose is bad. Any incite on what to look for? I am assuming I need to remove the battery, other than that and advice would be nice.

Thanks

Scott

Scott,

Did it just run out on its own or did it run out when you had the key on and tried to clean the windshield (i.e. used the fluid pump).

The reason I ask is it is a common issue with our Excursions to have the hose fitting separate. The fitting I always have to reconnect is on the front passengers side floor board. Basically if you go in the front passenger door, lift up or peel down (which ever you prefer) the upper outside most corner of the floor board carpeting, you will see an elbow fitting coming out of the floor/side board. There is a hose there also. Mine separates in the winter time when the fluid gets thick due to cold temperatures and this seems to be the weakest joint in the fluid delivery system. When you then run the pump to wash the windshield, the fluid just pumps onto the passengers floorboard. I've never seen mine run onto the running board though and that is why I was asking as to whether it happens on its own or when you are pumping the system thru the steering column stalk control.

Good luck and my response may be totally off base but since it is a common issue I figured I'd offer it up just in case.

Good luck,
Joe.
