Lopping/black smoke
I have a 92 150 w/ the inline 6, it was running fine until I swapped tanks while driving and it never caught up. I changed the fuel regulator and now it will start but is lopping and running rich. If I unplug the vacuum line running to the map sensor the idle seems better. I checked the voltage on the sensor and it was only 2.5 volts instead of 5. And didn't change with the vacuum line connect/disconnected. I believe the map sensor is bad but wanted to get some other opinions before I started trial by error. Thanks.

There was a guy that had a similar situation. It ended up being the fuel pressure regulator on the rail. But, pull your codes first then you can check the FPR by removing the vacuum from the actuator and see if a change occurs or not, also if fuel comes out the regulator port as well. If no change in idle or you find fuel coming out the regulator then it is the possible culprit in the looping/black smoke.
