weird studer
hey guys i was doing some body work on the truck this afternoon and i backed it out if the barn gave it a little gas and got off and it went into this weird studder and black smoe came out the tail pipe. why did it do this the truck could use new plugs and stuff but is there some thing els that is geting ready to break? thanks guys steve

Have you given the truck a tune up? New plugs & wires would be a good start. Running a fuel system cleaner, Chevron Techron or SeaFoam for instance, though the system may help. Check the air cleaner and think about replacing the fuel filter would also be good ideas.
Since this truck, if I recall correctly, is a fairly new purchase for you and you have been seeking help on a lot of different issues, I would suggest that you spend some time going through "Technical Info" section on the Ranger page. There is a lot of good information that will be a useful reference for you, although I'm not sure if there is anything there that deals with your stutter "issue." Another idea to consider is the purchase of Chilton or Haynes Manual. Either one of them will provide a lot of information.

yes the truck is new to me, i have fixed alot of stuff with the truck and i refer to the page to for a bit of help, i do look threw the different threads for some help. you guys have help out alot, im just started to driving the truck more and noticing little thing going on now. i plan on buying a book for the truck tomarrow so that shoud help. thanks for all the help, steve
i have not done a full tune up on the truck, i just did a oil change. and i ran some heat threw the gas tank and put 5 gal of prem gas in it. i need to do plugs wires car rotor ect.. i will do this and let you know how i made out.
