Windy!!!

Yesterday two big rigs were blown off the roads. One on 395, between Carson City and Reno. The other one was on the "alternative" route that runs paralell, but at the base of the mountains. A dozen car owners reported damage while parked in the CC DMV parking lot. Flying debris was the culprit. Today the gusts are hitting 65mph.

As a truck driver I can tell you getting hit by winds like that is down right scary.

I can tell you, hitting winds like that in a pick-up with a slide-in camper can make you have to change your shorts!

Man that is bad. It is not that unusally to see that in wyoming. But it is scary to have that happen when you are right behind the tractor tailer.

I remember running an empty 53'ft wagon into Chicago awhile back Heading Westbound on the 1-94 just around Gary I think it was, the wind just about blew my ride off into the rubbarb, scared the loving pi$$ outta me.

It's even scarier when your at the helm of that tractor trailer ......lol

Yeah Bill, you don't want to be running empty.

I was once following a poor old couple who were driving one of those Toyota pickups with the chassis mounted camper built on. He was getting blown all over the road and twice he had wheels off the ground. I passed him, and we waved him down and got him to park it in an arroyo till it let up. He didn't have sense enough to park it head into the wind.
