Gas question

Should I eat 4 bean burrito's for lunch? LOL ... JUST KIDDING! Not that kind of gas.

The truck is running great, but I've noticed that when I'm driving at 65 MPH, the engine seems to act like it's not getting all the fuel it needs. Example: I can be going steady, with my foot steady on the pedal, and suddenly, with no movement from me, the engine will surge down and I'll drop 5-10 MPH in speed. Then after I adjust and get back up to speed, it will surge up again. I changed my air filter to make sure I'm getting enough air. The only thing left I can think of is that I'm having trouble getting gas to the injectors. I'm buying a new fuel filter today (have read that you shouldn't fill it with fuel, just let the truck fill it on it's own).

I was wondering about gas treatment options to clean the injectors. What would y'all recommend? I used some on a tractor once, it resulted in the engine running hotter, which caused the inside of the lower radiator hose to melt and fold on it'self, which caused a crack in the block; thus ... I'm a bit wearing of using anything). What do y'all use?

FYI truck is an 85 F250 with 6.9L Diesel.

Diesel Kleen or Power Service for fuel system cleaner.

When you change the filter, fill it with either of the above products.

Installing an empty filter and then cranking the engine till it fills, dead batteries and possibly a dead starter if you crank to long and don't let it cool enough between attempts to bleed that air out of the fuel system.

Always fill your filter with a good diesel additive. I try to change filters after warming the engine up seems to start easier. Your problem almost sounds like you could be sucking air before the pump somewhere.

TIMMY! You can eat as many burritos as you want for lunch, but you'll be riding in the back of the truck afterwards. TIMMY! If I stick a hose in yer butt and run it to my intake, does that count as methanol injection? TIMMY!

I just now noticed starmilt's signature. I love it. did you do the first line for Dodge/Cummins?

Silver Bottle Power Service works pretty good. Lucas Fuel treatment in the big bottle has done wonders on my boss's John Deere 4440.
