Silly question... but

Silly question... but

why didn't they name F-150 the F-250 and F-250 the F-500 and F-350 the F-750... that is... why not make the numbers multiples of 1/4 ton!? Am I up too late? Is that the problem?

Well your sleep schedule seems pretty close to mine so it must be the math. Ahhhhh I don't know. Ask me in the morning.

By doing it they can find out just who has too much time on their hands allowing them to think up questions like that one.

Back in the day, it had a lot more to do with the weight carrying capacity of each truck.

Th 150 supposedly was designed to carry 1500 lbs, 250- 2500 lbs, etc.

They started as F1, F2 F3 etc etc so it only made sense to just add the 50 if you are changing the name but trying to keep some of the old name as well.
