Another dead Torqueshift trans
My first transmission ended in disaster with the infamous snap ring failure.
I opted to have the dealership replace the broken case and failed components. $ 2,800 dollars later Im on the road.
5 thousand miles on it now and it's leaking. Now the dealer is telling me that it's over heating and pushing fluid out the vent.
I thought this rebuild had a 12k warranty. They are telling me that warranty only covers the components they replaced.
They said there are so many possibilities to cause the over heating, but do not think it has anything to do with the work they did. Of course.
Now they want me to buy a Ford Reman. For $ 4k.
This truck is a 05 f-350, V-10 with 82k miles. Only hauled a 9.5 ft camper before the rebuild. And had not hauled anything after the rebuild.
Any Ideas on what may have failed?

Did the dealer clean the transmission cooler system and install a filter in the line? Ford requires that if a reman. is installed, or they will not honor the warranty. Overheating would make you think that the cooler is plugged.
If they did not flush the system AND install a filter in the cooler line, you have a strong case for making the dealer eat the replacement. Tough fight though.
