I'm not sure where I found this picture but was wondering if anyone on here is the owner. It's been my screen saver for awhile now and what I invision my pickup to look like or would like to look like. If someone on here does own it could you let me know as I would like to see more pictures of it. Thanks
We build racing seats. The simple black seats are the hardest because they are bare-bones. They show any small flaw. The crazy seats with all the wild colors and logos don't get examined as closely.
The Wife once told me that a high-quality black dress costs a lot more than some Frankenstein garment that hides all the mistakes....... A quality machine just "is"..........
I am blocking out my 53 and this is the 4th time....for a satin black finish.
I just ordered the paint....so it won't be long now.
Wish my 56 f100 was this done...haha
i think i left droole markon the fender! beautifull!!! wanted to originally paint my truck flat black but decided against it, it to me just does not look finished and if i`m gonna put in all that work ito it i might as well paint it in colour. flat black, set of steelies and white walls!, o.k i`ll quit drooling!!
To me this truck is perfect. It looks great and the owner won't have to worry about a high dollar paint job everywhere he drives it.
This truck is also perfect, but for me, I would be afraid to drive it to all the places that I might want to go. I wouldn't even want to drive it in the rain.
I've had my share of garage queens and I don't want another. Even though my 55 has had a lot of radical changes, I intend to keep it fun and it will wear suede paint, with a shiny paint job on down the road......maybe......maybe not.........
Maybe its just me, but I think it's more of a mental block than anything. I struggled with that for a while after I painted my car, the fear of it getting scratched or damage. But when I spent some time thinking I realized the majority of my time was always in the body work, I remember saying "I don't know why they call it painting a car, all I do is sand!". I had been debating on weather or not to use a candy on my '56 (to be) because I wanted to use it and was afraid I might not even use it like a truck ought to, in the end I realized the only difference is a little money in paint and an extra hour in the booth. If it got damaged it be almost exactly the same amount of work and effort to fix than if I left it in primer.
But its a weird mental block, I still struggle with it from time to time. I think it has something to do with not wanting something pretty get damaged, ha.... then again if it was a show-end paint job, just the fear of having to sand that much again...
i`m getting a bit closer to the paint stage but can`t decide what to do with colour!! flat black with a set of wide steelies or mags?? bright orange is something that keeps coming back to me, bright yellow?? this is the hardest part of building this truck!

Have you thought about orange with a gold pearl? It's breath taking.
Check out the picture on this guy's site, it shows the difference:
