Hi i have a 05 F350 Crewcab (KR with sunroof if it makes a diff) and just wanted to know if a reg body shop would be able to install clearance lights and for how much?
Its not that bad. I did it to a brand new 08. Buddy got the lights and harness for cost ($81). Took about 3 1/2 hrs. I would bet about $300 for a shop to do it.
both...but actually she is first on the loan/title for the truck, bu i drive it (since i have the shortest commute) but i'm first on the car, but she drives it....
You may want to see if your local accessory shops (if they are still around, it's been a rough couple of years for brick and motar stores) does installs. The can get a set of OE look alikes from Pacer. Then depending on how they install it, it could be only acouple hundred dollars.
If the lamps can be mounted next to the windshield trim, the wires can be run under that so they only have to drill the holes for the lamps to mount in. Then 10 minutes to pull the headlight switch, splice one wire and make a ground.
has anyone ever installed a sunvisor with the built in clearance lights? I saw one once & thought it looked quite good, Still would need the wiring harness I guess, but less drilling would be involved. & it would need to be painted the truck color.

I've done two of them. One on a 2000 F150 and one on a S10. They aren't that hard to do, a couple of sticky pads with bolts, and a half dozen self tapping bolts into the door jamb. You need to install it, then have it painted and then reinstall it. The s10 went smoothly enough, but we ran into issues with the bolt placement on the F150. The bolts pulled it downward just enough where the edge rubbed on the door as it was closed. We used a rotozip bit to trim it, but if the customer had wanted it painted, it would have required a touch up.

I installed a Lund on one of my past F-350. Looked pretty good, and installation wasn't too bad. However it did vibrate pretty bad at highway speed and cost me about 1 MPG due to wind buffering.
