wore out gear box
i went to get my tires aligned and balanced yesterday... but they werent able to align them because they said my "gear box has play from side to side." i read through the book about replacing it and it seems pretty difficult... any advice would be appreciated.

Geabox has play side to side? That shouldn't really have any effect on the basic alignment, other then you'll have slop in the steering wheel(turns but don't turn wheels).
Replacing the steering box isn't a big job, other then getting pitman arm off. A set of decent hand tools should do it. A puller can be rented at most Azones or Advance.

or if youd want to give it a try u could rebuild ur old one
