I got the 2000 F.250 4x4 ext cab 8 ft bed 4.10s with the 5.4, its got 148,000 miles on it. last week my fuel pump went bad, replaced that and the fuel filter, now my problem is my truck misses all the time, it has no cat, and a glasspack, when it misses it makes a popping noise, no power, and it really starting to pi$$ me off, ive tried every gas station around, regualar, mid grade and premium does the same thing, check engine light never comes on, its not burned out, so what do you think it is, coils, injectors, any and all help is appreciated
did u try unplugging a plug 1 at a time and listen/ notice for any changes in the idle ???
i suspect u got at least 1 bad cylinder..prolly a COP or maybe just a loose connection/torn boot..
p.s. did the miss start as soon as the fuel pump service was done ??? maybe something in that repair wasnt done rite.. wrong pump/filter ??? bad connection ???
Again, if the truck ran fine befor the fuel pump died, how long after the replacement did it start running bad? a few miles later? I would suspect if it wasn't an oem replacement it could be faulty or inadequate. Maybe during the replacement excess debris clogged the fuel filter.
this has been going on for a while, way before the fuel pump went out, the fuel pump is direct from ford, i dont mess around with cheap knockoffs, the filter is from ford also, whats the fuel pressure susposed to be, i will have to check it out this weekend, btw, it misses under load, like if im running about 1500 rpm, probably somewhere around 45mph and go up a grade, not really a hill it will miss then i kick it down and it will miss then to
