How do you like that Boss plow? We're looking for a plow for a 95 7.3 we just bought. It's got a Fisher plow mount, but no wiring or blade so I'm hoping to convince dad to go with either a Fisher wide-out or a Boss 8' straight blade with just a trip edge rather than full trip.
I love the Boss. I plowed snow for about 12 years with an old (1984-ish) Western and plowed commercially for a few years with Fisher, Western, Meyer, Boss and probably a few others depending on which truck I was driving. By far my favorite plow was the Boss. I like Boss for their durability, speed and power of the hydraulics.

gbroehl1 (Greg) just bought a Western for his quad-cab and the mounting system on it is pretty slick. I wouldn't hesistate to buy a Western either.

Most of the major brands are good - they all have their strengths and weaknesses but they all push snow!

Dad did commercial snow clearing for a while back before I was born. He always ran Western plows because of their fast cycle times.

To me when they cycle that fast it seems like they're trying to rip themselves off the truck.

I like to be sneaky in my plowing. I like to be able to lower the blade onto the ground relatively gently instead of the typical *BANG!* of most people when they're plowing. Nicer on the surface you're plowing and nicer if it's an odd hour you're plowing at.
