Electric Fan Switch

I am shopping for a temperature contolled electric fan switch for my 351W in my '50 F-1. What is the best degree range for turning the fan on and off. The one I have looked at so far is 195/210 degrees.

The switch you have seen is a fine range to me. I used a Hayden Relay Switch Kit p/n 3652 that I got at Pep Boys. I think it comes on at 190. It has a probe that you slide between the radiator fins with a snap switch in it that triggers the relay to come on and off.

There some available with a variable control where you set your own temp ranges.

I have both a flex fan running off the water pump pulley and a variable control speed electric fan attached to the radiator. I normally set the fan to come on a 200 degrees F. I'm using a 7lb radiator cap; I have the large brass tank.

I'm running a 350 sbc.

Speedway Motors has one that uses your guage sending unit. Pretty neat. Joe
