I have a 90 F250 that I just bought. Needless to say I managed to put a dent in the box above the wheel well while working on the trailer wiring (long story involving a sheet of plywood!!).
I was considering trying paintless dent removal. What kind of luck have you folks had? The dent is pretty small but very noticable (less than 1/4' deep and appx 1 inch long). Any ideas on what would be a reasonable charge?
I had great luck the other day using it. A neighbor's car broke down and I pushed it, while pushing on the car trunk I dented the truck a good two feet. Had him go get an orange plunger (better than a black one) and pulled it out without a crease. Paintless dent removal is cool
So, I suggest trying it yourself. What I think would work best for a small dent is the sucker they use to carry sheets of glass that have a small pump/handle.
I have seen it done in the auto sales industry for years. You never have to worry about color match, fading, peeling etc. Besides it is cheaper and faster too.
Hello, I'm a detailer and I have been around a lot of vehicles with dents, including my own truck. A 2001 F-150. Not all paintless dent removals work. Its all in the person who you have work on the dent. I backed a four wheeler into my door and I had one guy work on it and he made it worse. Then, I met another guy who does dents at the dealership that I work at. I looked at all the cars that he had worked on, and talked to him about my truck. He worked on my truck and I am very happy with the outcome. You really can't even tell it was ever there. Hope that helps.
