I have a 2006 6.0L. The blue CAC coupling that connects to the turbo up behind the oil filter split in a couple of places. I have a few questions reguarding its replacement. I called a couple of local dealers and they are asking $76/$89 respectively without clamps. Seems a bit much for such a simple part.
1. The part number I have is 6C3Z-6C640A for the blue tube. Any idea where I could find one for a lower price?
2. I have heard of a red tube with a Motorcraft part number and one with sealant applied(aftermarket?). Are these any better, likely to last longer?
3. Any commonly used after market couplers that hold up better and cost less?
I searched and could not find specific answers to these questions. Thanks for any replies.
I just (two weeks ago) replaced one of these on my 04. Mine was oil soaked and kept blowing off. The new one was like $84, and I just used the existing clamps. That was hard to swallow, but I was in a jam. The new ones are improved. It is still blue, but the inside is orange and is supposed to be oil resistant. The new one seems more rigid than the old one.
You can save about $20 if you order one from FTE Parts Guy. I just ran out of time and had to go to the dealership.
