RUST PREVENTION...HELP!
Keeping in mind that the only access I have is through the small drain holes, does anyone have any suggestion as to something I can pour in and that would stop rust and prevent it in the future? I was thinking of oil or maybe some rust converter that I have heard about. That stuff that is supposed to convert rust to primer. Anything else?
Thanks
I don't know about the chemical you're talking about that converts rust to primer, unless you're talking about something like Ospho which neutralizes the rust. Only thing with this stuff is it has to then be covered with something to prevent the rust from returning.
Also, I'm not familiar with the way the '72 fender is built. Is it possible to make the little hole a bit larger to where you could spray the double walled area with something like POR-15 or pour some in, slosh it around then let the excess drain back out?
Other than that, the only thing I can tell you is to be patient and see if one of the guys has some better ideas for ya.
