oxygen sensor? relocation for headers

my 86 doesnt have o2 sensors in the tailpipes, but on the passenger side manifold, there is a small screw in type sensor with a wire coming out of it which I clipped cuz it would be damn near impossible to get it off rusted n all on the back of the manifold next to the ac box. I read in the tech book that when no o2 is present the ECM puts it into continous loop mode ( before operating temp of 600 F ) is this going to interfere with my headers going in?

ok got the headers installed, bolted em on and attempted to start and now it just rotates with no sound of ignition, gonna check the coil in the morning but it ran before the headers went on, all vaccum lines are re-connected

sure, since there is only one sensor thats on the back side of the passenger manifold I read in the tech book that if the wire is cut or damaged the ECM automatically puts the sensor in continous loop mode to act as if its there seeing how the truck is pre-catalyst
