Hi all, great forum. I did a search on stroker sizes. I'm looking at a F800 truck that had a 534 taken out and lost years ago and a baby Cummins put in instead. I'd like to put a gas motor back in again but the 534 isn't good for modifying and it is hauling a 30 ft drop deck trailer.
I think I can get a FE to work with the 13 speed spicer and need plenty of torque. The motorsport block is ok to 598", so the website says, but one of the stroker suppliers is quoting 812" with a 460 block??? How large can I go if i start with a standard block, bearing in mind it doesn't need to rev?
with a stock block, you might be able to go to around 570ci if you get a good block and sonic check the walls for thickness, but it would not be a long lasting build with pretty thin walls.
545 ci is about the pratical safe limit for a stock block, maybe even out to the 550's if a good core is found.
anything over that and you will need an aftermarket block designed for that many cubic inches.
