I just replaced the fuel pump on my 77 f250 sc 460. But that is the first time, I haven't had a carbed truck for a long time, and have been lucky I guess before that. Anyway my question is when I pulled off the fuel line and filter there was ice that came out with the fuel, would that cause the pump to fail, it ran pretty good a few days ago and it was in the aux tank that I'm trying to run out the old gas.
After the new pump and filter I switched tanks to new gas and it runs great. Do I dare put some heat or something in the bad gas and run it to at least get rid of it.
What is your plan after you get the old gas out of the tank? I guess it depends on how much fuel is in the tank. If it was me and I was simply trying to get rid of the old fuel and not changing out the tank then I would throw in a bottle or two of heat, fill it up and run the pa-jesus out of it.
The tank is full, from the previous owner and I just want to run out the bad gas so i can keep using the tank, I guess I'm just concerned about the ice in it and if it will hurt the new fuel pump. But I think like you say I'll just put some heat in it and run it out.
