Problem with SCT X3

Good evening,
I bought an SCT X3 tuner from Mike at 5 star tuning about a month ago, and first of all I love the performance tune. You can really tell the difference. However, I am starting to get frustrated when setting the different tunes. So far I have change the tune 4 times, 3 of those times I had to reset back to stock and then put the custom tune back into it. It gets to about 20% and then says "failure to download" Error 1016. Then tells me to return truck to stock if it does not start, which it doesn't. So I attempt to return it to stock and that tune will not load. I have all accessories shut off, I even tried removing certain fuses during the download to reduce the power taken. Then I hooked my truck up to another vehicles battery so I know I had enought battery power (I heard the tuners are touchy when it comes to battery power during a tune download). And my truck is still stuck and will not start, it won't download any tune including the stock tune. I am starting to get fed up with this, has this happened to anybody else? Any ideas on how to get it to download?

best to get in contact with mike @ 5star. he's been awesome with me, though i've had no problems with my xcal, he's just been awesome to deal with. be sure that your battery is up to snuff... perhaps your battery posts are dirty?? be sure and contact mike though!!!

I left a message on his cell phone, I hope to hear back from him tomorrow. I agree he is helpful, he walked me through the first problem I had with this. I think I am just too paranoid for the tuning world, because I am starting to think I fried my PCM. It won't get past 24-25% and I tried it multiple times. As far as the battery is concerned the posts are clean. I appreciate the help,

Well after all said and done it looks like I have to have my truck towed to the dealership and have them re-load the stock tune on the pcm. Anybody have any ideas on how much this will cost?

Should be around $150.00 depending on dealer. As I had mentioned to you on the phone today 5 Star will pay you for the reflash even though its a SCT hardware device issue.
