6.4 International????
Well! I just got a conflicting statement as to the longevity of the 6.4 in the Ford lineup.
Ford rep at farm show says Ford has a contract for the production of this engine through 2012!
Says rumors about 6.7 coming soon are just that.
Guess we'll know it when it happens. Until then I ain't believing one way or tother.

That rep is definately out of the loop and needs to read the news a little more often. Both companies have formally announced that the contract to supply diesels for North American production will now end on 12/31/09 instead of 2012. Navistar International will only continue to supply diesels to Ford for South American production. It has also been reported that the Indianapolis engine plant (primary facility for the Power Stroke) and foundry will be shut down by 07/31/09...

Warrenville, IL (January 21, 2009) Navistar and Ford reached an agreement last week to restructure our ongoing business relationship and settle all existing litigation between our companies.
“Navistar and Ford benefited from a successful partnership that provided value to both companies for nearly three decades. Therefore, it’s in our best interests to resolve our conflict and continue our relationship with each other in other areas,” said Dan Ustian, chairman, president and CEO. “The next phase of our relationship is consistent with Navistar’s strategy to diversify our customer base, while continuing to provide value to both companies through our existing joint ventures and our supply agreement in South America.”
As a result of the agreement, Navistar and Ford will end our current diesel engine supply agreement, effective Dec. 31, 2009. However, we will continue to collaborate on a range of initiatives, including the existing Blue Diamond Truck and Parts joint ventures."
Indianapolis Engine Plant, Foundry to Close in July
(February 3, 2009) Last week, Navistar announced we will close our Indianapolis engine plant and Indianapolis Casting Corporation (ICC) foundry as a result of changes in our business relationship with Ford, the facilities’ primary customer. All operations at the Indianapolis campus will cease on July 31.
“This is a difficult decision because of the impact it has on our employees and the community where we live and work,” said Eric Tech, vice president and general manager, Engine Group. “But the significant change in Ford’s business plans has forced us to make this decision.”
We will continue to produce diesel engines for Ford through 2009, and will continue to collaborate on a range of initiatives, including the existing Blue Diamond Truck and Parts joint ventures and our diesel engine supply agreement in South America.
