H pipe necessary

I have 2.5" dual exhaust w/Flowmaster 40 series on my stock 73 F100 302-2V. I don't have an H pipe. What benefit would I gain with adding H Pipe?

Lots of benefit, though not as much as with an X-pipe. With how large your pipe is, anything you can do to reclaim torque is gonna be good.

The X-pipe get higher crossover velocities, which produces a smoother effect. Its hard to say how much better in exact terms, but the short of it is that it would be a lot better. It is more complicated to get installed however.
