Fuel Line

I recently installed a new 460 with an Edelbrock intake and 750 cfm Edelbrock carb. The fuel line connection on the new carb is on the passengers side instead of on the drivers side. I have duel fuel tanks and the metal fuel line to the carb is not long enough. I have a rubber fuel hose running across the intake manifold to the carb, about an 18 inch section. I am worried about the added heat on the line from laying on the manifold. What would be the best way to run the fuel line to keep it up off the manifold and away from the heat? I would like to use one of those magnets on the line that is supposed to increase gas mileage. With a 460 I can use all the fuel economy I can get. With 1600 miles on the new engine I am getting about 8.2 MPG which is not too bad.

Fuel Line

On my 390 I have the same thing. The rubber fuel line rests on top of my manifold. I have never had any problems with it like that. Maybe I shouldn't of let it do that, but it wasnt a concern of mine. However, I am going to scrap it becuse I want an aluminum fuel line that rests off the manifold. I will be using insulated clamps to hold the fuel line off anything hot or that vibrates. If you feel uncomfortable with it the way it is, try installing a metal or aluminum fuel line. You can route it anywhere you like. Or keep the rubber line, just use claps to hold it up off the manifold.

Just some ideas,

Jake
