just took truck to ford and they said i have to replace 2 moduales .that is bull.i took it home and took off the battery and reset everything and now it all works just as before.BE VERY CAREFULL OF FORD DEALERS.THEY ARE OU TO MAKE MONEY
What year is your truck? If it's 2009, it should be covered under warranty. And yes, stealerships are in it for the money. The unfortunate thing for us as truck owners, the days of fixing it yourself coming to an end as these trucks become more and more computerized. Chris
2009 Plat? The truck is under warranty. I wouldn't touch a thng on that truck until the warranty has expired. Unless you caused something to break due to abuse (which I doubt) you need to be more assertive with the stealership.
Was this the Ford built-in controller that gave you the problems or a controller you were installing? If so did you use the wires Ford included? Did you during installation blow these modules by grounding or live wire? It's neat to know that Ford built-in resetting modules instead of one that need to be replaced at a drop of a dime (or in this case a possible short). The built-in one I have has trailered perfect and would recommend as an option. Found out that if your truck did not come with a factory installed, you can install yourself (talked about in an other thread). Chris
Well that's not good to hear. So battery runs down from whatever and when you give yourself a hot shot, it trips fuses/modules/breakers Nice. I regularly use my truck to hot shot skidloaders, tractors etc. I wonder how sensitive the electrical system really is. Chris
