Hey everyone,
I just changed my fuel filter today and I am hearing a strange noise towards the back of the truck. When I put everything back together, I cycled the key without starting it a few times in order to prime the fuel system and it fired right up. I figured that the noise was just some air still in the lines and it would go away after going for a drive. If I turn the key to acc, I can hear the fuel pump start up and after a moment I hear a squeaking noise. It almost sounds like air pressure being released. I also have a few stored codes that aren't throwing the check engine light. P1000, U2023, and C1230. I know the P1000 should be there since I disconnected the battery. Are the others normal as well? Thanks.
Update: I just checked the truck tonight and the noise is down to a barely audible squeak. The P1000 code has cleared but the other two are still there. It still hasn't thrown any lights on the instrument cluster. I followed the directions that ford wrote for changing the filter. I went under the truck and unplugged one of the electrical connectors under the driver's side frame rail and started the truck until it ran out of fuel. I cranked it again to make sure the system pressure was released and then i pulled the battery. I changed the fuel filter, put all of the electrical stuff back together, primed the fuel system and fired it up. It runs fine, I'm just concerned about the codes being there.
