Lost dash lights, power!

My freind has a 2001 F350 Autotrans. Last night he let the truck idle all night. today when he left, the truck does not shift into O/D, hit o/d button then gauge lights went out. There are no lights flashing! No code reader with him. Sitting along interstate!! Some quick help please, Thanks..

I'll bet the alternator failed and the batteries ran dead.

He is sitting at mm212 on I-80, near Austintown. I had him shut truck off and it restarted, pulled vss sensor to clean. Is there a sensor on trans. that would have some affects?

Just pulled codes at Autozone and nothing shows. Truck is running and shifting, but not good. Lacks power and there is no dash gauges working. Fuses seem to be ok so far.
