5 speed swap

I would like to put a 5 speed in my 85. There is someone local who has a 88 5 speed set up with all the parts. Will this set up work in my truck.

You need to give more information. For instance if your truck is 460 and the trans is out of 302 then you could be in trouble.

302 to 302 and i guess its the mazda trans - factory offering.

It seems strait forward but will the pedal assy fit from a 87-92?

I'm pretty sure the pedals will swap over. My father put a 5 speed in his 85 but I don't recall what year the pedal set up came from. My father has 600K miles on his mazda trans.
