Another hp estimate....

Hey guys, I'm having my 460 rebuilt for me by a friend while I'm here in Iraq. Here is what we're likely going to run:

Scat 545 stroker kit
Edelbrock Performer RPM heads
Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold
Comp Cams XE274H or 282H Magnum cam
Port matching/light porting on heads & manifold
~9.9:1 compression

Right now it's got a Holley 750 vs carb and cheap Heddman headers into 2 1/4" dual exhaust, but I plan to upgrade to a bigger carb and Hooker Super Comp headers and 3" dual exhaust w/ crossover later on.

I'm hoping the extra cubes will help to add some low end torque with that big of a cam. What do you guys think? Will it hit close to 600 hp?

what about trick flow heads, they are a bit better than the edelbrocks, and the weiand stealth is a very very good intake. I would look for a bit more cam too.

Hello, yes more cam, a better intake,a weiand or victor intake . If you go bigger cam you with have to go bigger carb, The big strokers like lots of air, as you lose rpm range on a stroker, with a 545ci a camshaft with say 2'800 to 6'800 rpm range will come down to around 2'000 rpm starting range, and bump up the compression to 10-1 you should be in the 600hp area, hope this helps.
