Like the post says I melted my boost line I didn't get it back on there good enough when we did my injectors and it fell down and melted on the turbo. So heres the deal how do I fix it I really don't want to run a new one so what could I find that is that small that will not leak? I have looked around advanced and Napa I was thinking about going to a hose place and maybe finding a fitting that would work.
Scott (crum71) suggested that I get two fittings a male and a female end of the boost fittings and tie them in together at the leak. I was hoping to get some from my local diesel shop MCN Diesel but he was closed today because they went to the Redneck Nationals in FL.
JD,
You should be able to find a compression splice fitting with tube inserts for the 1/8" airline or "spaghetti line" as we call it at work. A diesel truck shop or parts house should have these. We stock them at work. They have a tiny insert/tube that goes inside the line to keep from crushing it with the ferrule.
What would that do about the boost pressure in the tube? I didn't know they made such a thing because of the size...

Let me know if ya'll cant find these fittings. The napa up here has them in stock. I have bought 1/8" compression fittings at lowes, but it's hit or miss with them.

Wouldn't affect it much, if at all. They offer very little restriction. I use them to repair the range selector air lines on the shifter of tractor/trailer rigs. They are DOT rated fittings and air line.
The rinky dink tee that came with my boost gauge wouldn't hold the line on so I went to the local hardware store and got compression fittings to put it all together. You should be able to find a coupler and just cut out the melted part and put it back together.
