Autometer gauge lighting

I recently purchased a Autometer 2891 tach and it comes with a clear bulb. Is there anyway to change the colour to green without sending it back like autometer says? (the bezel is crimped on and they say they have to do it)

I believe that they just put a bulb cap on.
Has anyone done this themselves?

Is there anyway to put a film on the outside of the lens?
Help, its blinding me compared to the stock green gauges.

Matt

Can't help with gettin' it apart, but you may try some smoke window tinting, the kind that static clings to windows that you see for shading little people in the rear seat. This is something that could be removed when you figure out how to get it apart.
