I just got a 1990 F-150 short bed with a 351, but I have no idea which one it has. What numbers and were do I look for them, to find out if it is a windsor or a cleveland?
The only small V8 installed in the F series from about 1980 on was a Windsor, either a 302 or 351.
Those are 2 different motors. the 302 in not a windsor. It shares a common head configuration and in some instances you can interchange camshafts. Bellhousings are of the same patten. The 351w is the only windsor.
As for telling the difference between a 351w and a 351m or 351c the valve covers will set them apart. look for flat topped valve covers on the w, and pent roof valve covers on the m and c.
