The motor looks totally different, I'll see if I can find a pic of a 6.0 motor for ya.
Thanks!
Once I get my feet firmly planted I may start a newby thread answering some of the dumb and eventually obvious questions that people may be too scared to ask.
Great pictures! Another easy what is the badge on the door side. The only trucks to worry about being an 7.3 or 6.0 are the '03's, that's when they changed motors.
Just look under the hood, and if there is room to work on the engine, it's a 7.3; if a wrench would get stuck between the block and fenders when you drop it, it's 6.0.
Good luck with the search, take your time and be thorough! Look at a bunch of them and drive them so that you can compare.
There aren't really many outward appearances that are distinct. The powerstroke badges on the door is what I look at. AGAIN - 7.3 has black background with silver or silver/red letters, 6.0 is chrome background with black/red letters. Also the mirrors - the 7.3's DID NOT have the heated/turn signal style (from the factory anyway) and the 6.0's do have the tow mirror with the heated glass and turn signal built in.
Like chase said, if you pop the hood, it's noticable. The 6.0 looks like someone took a bunch of black plastic and metal, wadded it up into a big ball, then stuffed it under the hood. The 7.3 is a cleaner looking motor compartment.
The bad thing about relying on badges, mirrors, etc. is all that stuff can be changed easily. A lot of people try to determine the early 99's by the badges being on the fenders and not the doors... well my early 99 has OEM door badges (yes, some of the early turds had door badges).
Another easy way to tell is to take a can of gasoline with you- start the truck and set the can of gasoline up near the front. I've heard that a 6.0 will stop running instantly if it even smells gas

Mine is one of them as well!
Once you learn and notice the little things that have been mentioned, it gets to be pretty easy to notice the 7.3L vs. the 6.0L.
Chase,s pics sumed it up good to what to look for. Also, when you do find what your looking for, check everything on it for abuse or if was well taken care of, good luck.
