I have a brake light not operating and the bulb looks ok.,I replaced anyway to rule out and still no light? I am sure I seen on here about a fuse being the culpret but am not sure need help please chime on in to save the day....lol
p.s. I am going f-ing crazy...it's always something ya know?
Both brake lights are on the same fuse so if the passenger side works it is not the fuse. Look closely at the socket contact with the bulb out--there could be some corrosion there--scrape it clean with a knife blade. Other than that, it could be the wire behind the socket is broken off. Hope this helps--Jerry
That is very strange then. The blinker is the same part of the bulb(I think) as the break light....Have you had someone to press the break pedal and have a test light on the plug?

no not yet, I did not want to drive somewhere for help but that is what I am probably going to do ,I am going outside to unplug the harness to look for corosion there and re-plug in to see what I get..will reply later
Make sure that the ground is good. Do you hear the flasher relay when that directional is supposed to be working?
Jim I have turn signal and tail light? Go figure I just checked and My fuses apear to be good, and for grins I turned on flashers and no go left side out......so does this point back to a fuse issue or is there a broken wire somewhere from the triple split? It is hard to investigate with my book because it is not for specific year and make it is for 2000 excursion
Yes it would Scott. A bad ground won't allow the electricity to return.
Jim I turned on hazzards and pulled out plug then checked with my test light and to my astonishment ( if that is spelled right) the light was blinking.....LOL so you hit the nail on the head!!!!thanks ol' buddy.
Your more than welcome Blaine. I'm not 100% sure where the ground connects. I think that they connect together under the truck near the trailer light setup.
