To clarify an urban myth and hopefully lay it to rest permanently, the fuel pickup tube inside the fuel tank ALWAYS draws fuel from the BOTTOM of the tank. Running the tank dry will kill the fuel pump but it will not increase the amount of dirt and debris in the fuel filter. Dan.
