Alright heres the problem, its a 302, the #8 cylinder is burning up the plug, but only when i put a load on the truck( 4 wheeler and small trailer) and once it gets into o/d. i have swapped injectors, changed fuel filter, checked fuel pressure(32psi@idle), checked for intake leak, just recently rebuilt motor and had the heads done, it was doing this before the rebuild, it does it on both tanks also. Also have the egr blocked off now after rebuild.I know it has to be leaning out #8 somehow, i am stumped on this one!!!! any help appreciated. Thanks
The obvious question is are you using the correct type of spark plug and the right heat range? The next thought is just a guess but the positive crankcase vent system may have an effect on No.8. You could try disconnecting it and plugging it at the manifold/throttle body.
Re-route the PCV from the back of the plenum to the center at the vacuum tree. It is dumping gases right into the #8 cylinder. The did this fix in later years as everyone was having issues with burning the rings/piston in the #8. Simple fix, but some damage may already be done. It melted my #8 piston on my 93 5.0.
