Before you change those plugs you may want to read Sad V10 Owner thread. I hope the heat range of those plugs are exactly the same as Motorcraft. This motor seems to like stock plugs.

My dad, like many V10 owners, found out the hard way that Motorcraft plugs are the only thing to use if you want optimal performance. Do a thread search and you will find many others who have been down that road.

need to check
there is LOTS and LOTS of info on this site that you need to look up before you decide to change the plugs unless you are very good and understand the problems. It could be easy, it could be a very big problem for you. and lots of $ you need the right rpocedure the right plugs the right never seaze the right toqure.... depending on who you want to listen to and who's experience you want to pay attention to... it is your decission in the end. but you better listen to esperience or you will be sucking wing and trying to figure out what to do with plugs that blow out of the heads taking the threads with them. I sure can't summerize it, just start poking around and spend some time reading then make up your own mind and live with your decission..... beleive me there are a lot of issues where. I know what I do and what has worked for me so far, but I could have a problem tomorrow, so I sure ain't gonna tell you what to do... make up your own mind.

The book says 6 qrts, the dealer will put in 6, but when yu do, you are a quart low. I always put 7, and that brings up to the full mark without being overful. everybody calims the 2-20 is the best oil. I tried synthitic, but ended up burining off 2 qrts by 5,000 mi.... that about $14 of oil, so just went back to good Castrol and 3,000 mile changes.

My '99 F250 SD,SCAB, 2WD V10 will hit 100K by the end of the month. I bought it used 8 years ago with only 33K on it. I only use 5W20 oil, changed religiously every 3K miles. I have had the trans fluid changed every 30K as I tow my 8,000# travel trailer with it. I have had some repairs, the most expensive being the infamous broken exhaust studs. I did change the plugs at 75K. I had the rearend regeared to 4:30s from the original 3:73s and added an Eaton limited slip. It really woke up the V10, especially when towing. At the same time, I had all the hoses and belt changed and all the fluids drained and flushed and added a tranny temp gauge. I also needed to replace the pitman arm at that time. The shop cleaned the MAF and the injectors and replaced the O2 sensors. I have the ABS fluid changed every other year. The only other expenses were new ball joints, a couple of brake jobs, a battery, tires, a bad COP, and I will soon need to replace my fan clutch. I don't view any of this as shortcomings of the V10. The truck is mostly retired from daily chores (as I have too) and will mainly be used to tow our RV trailer for the forseeable future. I love my V10.
