Here's a youtube of a extreme truck trial in the Czech Republic. Most of these trucks are Czech made Tatra diesels...Tatra diesel engines have something like 17.6 liter V12's with anywhere from 4wd to 6 , to 8 to 10 WD. These are real serious heavy duty off road trucks that win their class in the famous Paris-Dakar Rally . Commercially these off road trucks are set up to haul heavy loads through the roadless tracks of places like Siberia.
You don't get more serious and off road than that. If I ever get to the Czech Republic, Slovakia or Austria...I'm heading off to one of these truck trials.
Chevy guys never quit trying. I guess you have to admire that, but after awhile it is difficult to watch them bang their heads against the wall. When I ran the ice roads NWT you were more likely to see a sasquatch than a Chevy truck. Fords mainly and a few Dodges sprinkled in. The GM's just don't stand up.
Out in the patch the chevies were the least common of the big three also. Alot of dodges due to the cummins engines, and a lot of fords for the whole package.
