Welcome to FTE Ernesto. What intake are you running? Do you have just a 4" down pipe, or a complete 4" turbo back exhaust? If you want more smoke and more power, it's time to leave the off the shelf tuners like bully dog and step up to something like DP-Tuner or Total Diesel Performance. You'll have to give them more info, including what turbo upgrade you're running so they can write a tune that matches your truck, but if it's smoke you want, they offer a smoke tune that will make your rear view mirror worthless.
Bully dog basically only raises the ICP(injection control pressure), and does not add more pulse width(fuel), to the equation, so no matter how hard you try with a bully dog your not gonna get much smoke.
Sell the Bully Puppy, and get some custom tunes for your ride..... you will NOT regret it.
yeah 4" complet and k&n intake, turbo is one of those diret bolt from BD DIESEL
Ernesto this also raises the question of what A/R is the BD turbo. If it produces more air than the stocker this will also cut down on smoke.
the more fuel/less air you have the more smoke. the more air/less fuel you have injected will produce lower amounts of smoke. But like I said earlier the BullyDog stuff just does not add the amount of fuel needed to produce smoke in a 7.3. Now, Bully dog does do some impressive things with the cummins 5.9, but bully dog considers the 7.3 a dead platform, and does not update its tunes for the 7.3
Any bullydog product you buy for the 7.3 contains tunes that were written in 02 or 03. That is old technology considering that custom tuners ared still finding ways to get more and more out of the 7.3.
I dont want you to think that we are ragging you about your bullydog, heck, I spent LOTS of money with them back in 01 and 03 when thats all there really was on the market. I have talked with bullydog tech many times and have been told by them that they consider the 7.3 a dead platform and no longer support development for the engine. That is why I have a DP-Tuner and the difference is night and day. shift quality is much better, and towing strategies are.... well, bullydog doesnt even offer tow tunes.

You do also know that smoke is just unburned fuel, right? Just making sure you understand that what you're trying to accomplish WILL HURT your fuel economy.
