Alarm going off
I have a 2005 F250 diesel. Whenever I lock the doors, the alarm will go off within 10 minutes or so. I have to press the Alarm button on the remoted to turn it off. How can I turn this thing off.

If it's an aftermarket alarm (which I suspect), it's seeing a voltage drop from 12 to ~4v on the door sense wires. This is actually normal, the VSM drops the voltage so less current is used when the truck is off. However the change from 12 to half of that is enough to trigger most alarms as an intrusion. To wire this using the door sense, you need 2 diodes per door. Or you can probably get away with using the dome light circuit instead.

Do you know where they normally mount these units and what it would look like. It came on the truck that I ordered so I know the dealer didn't install. Thought it was factory. Would just like to shut it for now. Can't even lock the truck. I close the doors then try to turn the lock with the key but that arms it as well. Neighbors are not happy and I hate not locking the door.
