I have a 1999 F-250 Ford Diesel. I live on the MS Gulf Coast the tempature and humidity is usually pretty hot but when it gets below 50 degrees the truck will not run worth a crap. Even when the truck warms up it does not change the performance, but when the actual weather warms up it will run fine. I want to think its some type of sensor but I really just don't know. If anyone has an idea please let me know what it might be. Thanks, tannebi
Find a chart that shows specific humidities with there freezing points are. I suspect iciing maybe fouling the mass air flow? or pressure MAPS or freezing in the intercooler if you have one? Hope this helps.
Second, I would be looking at the Intake Air Temperature sensor. Perhaps it is not reading colder air and compensating for it. I don't know if the 7.3 had a barometer sensor but if it does you might want to look at that too.
