lift kit help!!!!

ok guys and gals,
love this site and my truck..
my truck is a 2003 larait psd with these mods,,,DP Tuner, cold air intake,Banks power elbow and monster exhaust,..the next mod i want to do is lift the truck..hence the questions, i want to go with 6" lift and 35" tires both brands undecided at this point..i guess my first question is ..What affect will this have on my hauling and towing,2nd is the springs in the rear instead of blocks better?? the truck doesn't see off roading...
anyway sorry for so long post,,this will get me started for now..
Joey

Welcome to FTE Joey. I can't help you with the lift question but I can give you a bump.

Ive always went with the blocks on lift kits. They serve my purposes well and are cheaper then springs all around. The towing shouldnt be affected much, do you tow really heavy or just normal loads.

If your only going to run 35's a 4 inch lift is enough with blocks in the rear. If you plan on some hard off roading with the 6 inch lift go with full leaf packs in the rear. If you are only going to run your truck on the street 4 inch and blocks is all you need.

Well the higher you lift it the worst the handling will be when towing.

My bother has 6" with 35s there is room for alot of play. you will be fine as far as towing goes. As mentione 4" is plenty for 35's unless you really jam them up pretty good.

don't do blocks over 4".... you will start seeing severe axle wrap. I'd prefer a full spring lift, but I'm a cheap a$$ and went with a block on the rear. As far as quality, Fabtech is extremely well crafted, IMO. You also pay for the craftsmanship of the lift. I personally would avoid Rough Country or Tuff Country.... they don't seem to have the quality as Fabtech or Donahoe. I guess i'm saying do it right the first time. DCspecial would be the man to ask... might send him a PM

Edit: ughhh pardon my manners... welcome to FTE!!

if you have 4:10s, you will lose some torque, but still manageable.... if it's 3:73's, you'll need a gear change if you tow heavy.

I agree with looking at the Icon Vehicle Dynamics 4.5" lift.

I'd go with 35" Toyos, Kumhos, or Mickey Thompson tires on aftermarket wheels.

My 99 F250 had an 8" all spring kit from BDS. It rode very, very rough.

My 00 F350 has a 6" block kit from Skyjacker, with the factory leaf springs in the rear and it rides very nicely. Neither one of them had any problems towing. My 00 has 4.10s in it, and I only thought about re-gearing it for the performance, never because it couldn't pull a load. Your DP Tuner will take care of that. Just keep an eye on tranny temps.

I love my Extreme ATs from Pro Comp. My SSRs from Interco were awesome as well.
