I recently noticed that when I'm cornering and accelerating, I have a vibration/rumble, which I strongly believe comes from the rear. It is almost as driving over a washboard kind of a feel.
Any idea what that might be? Rear end? Differential?
And that's one other thing I noticed. If I take a turn and hit the gas pretty good, I lately get the tires spinning (yep, even with the 35 BFG's)... kind of surprised me.
The vibration could very well be caused by the LS's clutch packs. I would recommend that you replace the fluid with either a fluid that doesn't require friction modifier like Royal Purple or use a fluid and the appropriate amount of friction modifier to help reduce the chatter you are experiencing.
Take time to inspect the rear gear while you have the cover off for metal shavings and such.
Might also wanna upgrade the rear cover to the 08 cover. Cheap and helps cool the fluid a little better...plus it look cool.
I replaced the fluid last year with the Royal Purple to cure a slight shudder.... now it seems to be back. Could my clutch packs be gone? Does anyone have any experience with what other symptoms worn clutch packs have?
I had the same problem. Just replaced rear diff fluid with Mobil 1 and there is not improvement. Curious what replies you get because it's annoying me.
Thanks, Monsta... I guess I'll have that checked out. I just replaced my tranny, which was (of course) just outside of the extended warranty... What a bummer...
