Exhaust Opinions

I've purchased the Flowmaster SIDO 50 series truck/suv exhaust kit and i'm torn on where i want the exit to be. i would really like to go straight out the back but i've heard that going right out the back tends to get soot all over the rear bumper and tail gate. I dont really want to go out the side as the pipe tends to get just covered in all the crap i drive in and not to mention the snow buildup on them.

any opinions?

I have had mine going straight out the back for two years now with no soot on anything. If you have soot on your tailgate there is something wrong with your motor.
