how do i get a bigger down pipe?

Here is one place, The range of difficulty is not very high if you have the right tools. Also, it depends on how big you are going. 3 1/2" is a whole lot easier than 4".
A sawzall, porta power, Big pry bar, a vocabulary of convincing words, all of the above are a great help. A helper is also a good thing to have.

Your going to have to do some serious firewall work to get a 4" pipe in there. Best bet would be is to get a 3" pipe.
You will need to cut the stock dp in half in order to get it out. A sawzall works well, but if you can get your hands on a plasma torch is a 1-2 minute job.
The aftermarket pipe will be in two pieces and should fit in there will little or no problems. You may have to work it a little bit so it's not hitting anything though.
