Ok, we are making a road trip down from Alaska to WA, OR, in our F350. The truck is a 2000 F350, stock other than airbags in the back. We will be hauling our Lance camper on the back, its a 11.5' model. So anyway, we are wanting to do a few things before the trip, such as exhaust, chip, intake, guages, and anything else that should be done in between. Basically I need help on what is best to buy and what should be done. Thanks
Sounds like you've got the basics covered. The only thing I would add is a shift kit or modified valve body to firm up the shifts. We do have a new sponsor here who has been a member of our forum for a little while who has a pretty good deal on gauges right now. You might send him a PM and see what kind of deal he can get you. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...sale-info.html
As for intakes, the cheap DIY version is the 6637 filter, or you can go with something like the AFE stage II or the Ford AIS is you live in an extremely dusty environment. I don't know where the best deal on an exhaust is. For a chip, the favorites here are DP-Tuner (another sponsor) or Total Diesel Performance.
Ok for exhaust like what are you guys putting on your trucks? I seen a video on youtube of the 5" MBRP and it sounded awsome. I would like a 5" so is MBRP the way to go for a 5".
Also if I get the DP would it be best to have the wicked wheel installed?
Make sure you get the transmission valve body. I waited awhile and finally got one...WOW! A must no matter what load youre pulling. A transmission cooler also makes a huge difference for the long term.
