you're not going to believe what your truck riding on. Watch the video check your tires.
well, I gonna get cargo rated tires. C205R14 tires for Sprinter are available here... they have 910 kg load ratio. these tires are heavy but more safe. Now I have P215/70R14
Wow, the same thing happened to me this afternoon at about 15:30 PST. Cruising along at about 65 mph, about to merge from one freeway to another, then the noise started. It started out as a hum, then quickly became a rumble, then clunking, and smoke and chunks of rubber flying all over the place. I pulled into the separation between the two freeways (57 N to 60 junction, for those in SoCal) and managed to stop just as the two painted lines came to a point. I had to back up a little tow where there was a wider separation between the two freeways, and the tire thumped a lot. I got out and looked, and saw that the entire outside sidewall was gone. The rim seemed OK, but I lost the wheel cover.
Changing to the spare was not eventful; a tow truck pulled up behind me and turned his flashers on to make sure drivers from the 60 could see and avoid that area. When I was done, I thanked him, and we both went on our way, me *****-footing at around 50 mph to get home. I stopped by the local Sears auto to see if they could install some tires during what's left of a Sunday afternoon, but they did not have the correct sizes in stock. It seemed like they just don't carry the 215/75/14 anymore, and I would have to go with a 215/70/14. Didn't matter, so I'll have to check around town tomorrow. Anybody have a recommendation for brand? I doubt I can fit light truck tires onto these wheels, so it will have to be pass-car tires.

Are you still riding around with a temp.? Don't hurt your gearing by driving around on a 70mm tall tire vs. a 75mm. The different will hurt your differential.
the tire I use is a cooper LT tire known as the Avenger. Its an english size, 27x8.5R14. They are just marginally larger thant he stock tires, but have a weight rating of 1520 lbs. On an Aerostar, if they are rotated properly and the alignment is correct, they should last up to 70,000 miles. I have over 30,000 miles on mine so far, and they look almost new. They are excellent in snow. And they very much improve handling. Much of the body roll in an Aerostar is due to the soft tires. When you put a firmer tire, the body rolls much less, even with an otherwise stock suspension. Be advised, this tire size is not as readily available, so they may not be available in all areas, for me they save money. The standard passenger tires are lucky to get 20,000 miles on an aero, the soft rubber causes then to deform under the weight of the van, almost like the tire is low all the time. This causes rapid wear on the outside edge. You can slightly overinflate them, but then you get the opposite type of wear. The Aerostar is a heavy vehicle, and should use a tire rated for heavy vehicles. This increases safety, and lengthens tire life. I was told by the shop that installed mine that I should expect about 50,000 miles for this tire, but judging by the way it is wearing so far, I think I'll get a lot more than that.
I have been using Wal-Mart tires for a few years on my Aerostar and no problems so far. They are branded Liberator 225/70 R 14 , 1675 lbs load rating , 44 psi max.
freeways and roads here have large chuck holes and strips out, lack of repair funding.
took out a front tire on the Aero on a large sunken down 3inches manhole cover right in the middle lane of Interstate 5 in the middle of town. turned it into a slow leaker and rim cut a day later.
expect tire problems now after towing trailer north 200 miles on I5 and returning this weekend. large chunks out, rough mismatched cement section ends. beat the truck and trailer around. had to drive in the far left lane for miles at 60 mph truck speed, only smooth one.
