I was just wondering if anyone else has had problems with Edelbrock aluminum heads for a 302. I have a 1994 F150 that is running a street carb and headers; nothing special really but I let a friend talk me into ditching the stock heads for these. We rebuilt the engine twice but I still have a problem with what appears to be oil smoke out of the tailpipes. It seems that I'm getting oil in the combustion chambers because I find some plugs looking worse than others; (black with oil). A few appear to be burning fine, nice and brown but not all. I'm a converted GM guy and really enjoy the Ford but I can't seem to figure this out. It's been about a year and the engine has 5000 miles on it. It smoked from day one and people said it just needed to be broken in. I've NEVER had this problem with a GM but I am using aftermarket heads. I actually took the heads back to the machine shop that finished them a second time and they found nothing wrong. Is there any FORD trick I just don't know about? Heck, after all they are all just nuts and bolts! Any help is greatly appreciated!
